EYELID REJUVENATION

Blepharoplasty: Refined Eyelid Surgery for a Fresher Appearance

Blepharoplasty is a specialised eyelid procedure designed to rejuvenate the appearance of the eyes by addressing excess skin, protruding or displaced fat, and changes in the supporting tissues of the upper or lower eyelids.

The goal is not simply to remove tissue, but to restore balance, freshness and natural definition around the eyes while preserving eyelid function and facial character.

UPPER EYELIDS

Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty

With ageing, the upper eyelids may develop excess skin, heaviness or fullness, creating a tired or hooded appearance. In selected patients, excess upper-eyelid skin may also interfere with the field of vision. Upper blepharoplasty carefully removes or reshapes the tissues responsible for this appearance, with the incision placed within the natural eyelid crease so that the resulting scar is generally well concealed.

LOWER EYELIDS

Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty

Lower blepharoplasty addresses under-eye bags, puffiness and age-related changes around the lower eyelids. Depending on the anatomy and needs of the individual, excess or prominent fat may be repositioned rather than simply removed, helping create a smoother transition between the lower eyelid and cheek. Excess skin, when present, can also be addressed conservatively. In suitable patients, a transconjunctival approach can be performed through the inner surface of the eyelid, avoiding a visible external skin incision.

TAILORED TO YOU

A Personalised Approach

Every face and every eyelid is different. A detailed assessment considers:

  • Amount and quality of eyelid skin
  • Fat prominence or volume loss
  • Eyelid position and laxity
  • Brow position
  • Tear-film and ocular surface health
  • Facial proportions and symmetry
  • Functional concerns, including visual-field obstruction

Treatment is then tailored to achieve a result that looks natural, balanced and harmonious rather than operated upon.

Blepharoplasty is usually performed as a day-care procedure. Mild swelling and bruising are expected during the early recovery period and gradually settle. Most patients can return to routine activities within a relatively short period, although complete refinement of the result may take longer. Because the eyelids are delicate structures, meticulous surgical planning and technique are essential for both aesthetic outcomes and proper eyelid function.

The aim: rested, refreshed and natural appearance.
